Is it worth it? Is it worth the time, energy, money, and difficulty that it’s costing you to continue doing whatever it is that is making you ask the question? Yes, it is. It is worth every moment, every ounce of energy, the money you invest, and the difficulty it takes to finish whatever you have begun.
Perseverance is difficult – but to have persevered is invaluable. If your desires, goals, plans have the glory of God and the good of others as their end – then you will be blessed if you persevere.
Keep going. Do not give up. Do not let the difficulty of this situation, relationship, or circumstance distract you from the end goal. Let these verses encourage you:
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season, we will reap if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good. 2 Thessalonians 3:13
Anything that makes us more dependent on God, more humble, less selfish – anything that makes us more Christlike is worth it – in and of itself. Finishing school? Hard job? Tough marriage? Difficulty with the kids? Broken down cars? Whatever it is that is making you ask this question – ask yourself, “Is this bringing glory to God in my life? Is it making me more Christlike?” Or ask yourself, “Is this resulting or going to result in good for others?” When those answers are in the affirmative, you can assure yourself that whatever it is – it’s worth it.
